Learn how to harness the power of Microsoft Excel to streamline your workflow. This course will help students develop foundational skills such as navigating the ribbon and groups on the menu bar and creating and managing spreadsheets. It will also introduce tips and tools for formatting data for faster input and output as well as tips and tools for preparing data for print and distribution.
This course will help students build on their foundational skills by introducing tools that leverage Microsoft Excel ’s powerful data manipulation, formatting, analyzing, and reporting capabilities. Students will learn how to create and manage tables in Excel; how to count, calculate, transform, and format data using formulas and functions; how to create, modify, and format charts to add a visual element to data reporting; and, how to quickly analyze data with Excel’s “Quick Analysis” tools that summarize, total, and chart selected data.
Students will learn how to perform logical operations using functions such as “IF”, “COUNTIF”, and “SUMIF”; how to execute spreadsheet analysis operations such as consolidating data from different sources and performing “what-if” analysis; how to prepare for collaboration using tools to restrict editing, protect the workbook, and manage comments; and how to create and modify simple macros to automate redundant tasks. Students will also learn how to fill cells based on existing data, format and validate data, and how to apply advanced conditional formatting and filtering to Excel worksheets.
This course is designed for current Microsoft Excel users looking to maximize Microsoft Excel’s data reporting capability. Students will learn how to create and modify pivot tables for targeted data retrieval, group and format pivot table data for easy reading, and create pivot charts for quick, data visualization.
Learn the basics of developing a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. This course will not only help students develop foundational skills for developing PowerPoint presentations, such as planning, organizing, formatting, and preparing for delivery, but it will also introduce PowerPoint’s key features and tools for accomplishing these essential tasks.
